My philosophy on psychotherapy:
My primary goal as a therapist is to create a collaborative and empathic space where my clients can move towards psychological alignment, authenticity and wholeness. It is my belief that healing is evoked through a process of emotionally corrective experiences and embodiment, which is the aim when working together.
In addition to being specialized in trauma treatment, I am an AASECT-certified sex therapist and am qualified to treat a range of sexual health concerns with both individuals and couples.
My clinical approach is best described as an eclectic combination of approaches that are tailored to my client’s unique needs, but are always collaborative, non-pathologizing and depth-oriented. I have found that these ingredients are vital to the co-creation of a safe space where my clients may engage in in-depth work on presenting issues, concerns/fears, past conflict, symbolic material, dreams and the unconscious, while also promoting the client’s strengths and nurturing a healing process. I find that this exploration of self is effective in aiding in the achievement of psychological healing and restoring a sense of balance.
